will open its Montpellier R&D site to the attendees of the Life Sciences Symposium for a full afternoon. With about 1100 collaborators and a large panel of R&D activities, this R&D center is one of the 23 sanofi aventis R&D sites. The visit will be specially focused on activities related to Clinical Supply Chain, Clinical Supplies and Pharmaceutical Development where Rockwell Automation solutions have been or are being implemented.
The tour of the site will start by a short general presentation covering three main topics:
- Presentation about the sanofi aventis company, with a special emphasis on the R&D and specifically Montpellier site.
- Implementation of Rockwell Automation RS PMX CTM solution for Global Clinical Supply Chain management in sanofi aventis R&D: project, achievements and status.
- Implementation of the Rockwell Automation process solution in the new Chemical Development pilot: project, achievements and status.
To have a concrete vision of the implementation of these projects, the tour will then guide the attendees through three areas of the site :
- Clinical supplies building: General visit and RS PMX CTM demonstration, through the material flow management, from the receipt to the shipping, including warehousing, recipe, weighing, shop order management, data printing on line with connection of RS PMX CTM with the automation layer.
- ULC: General visit and RS PMX CTM demonstration on a manufacturing purpose.
- New Chemical Development Pilot (because this pilot is still under construction, the visit may be not possible.)
In order to ensure an optimal level of interaction and to let all delegates take benefit of all three visits, the group will be split between these 3 locations.
R&D Montpellier will celebrate the end of the site visit with refreshments for all attendees.
